Jamar Retractable Monofilaments
Jamar Retractable Monofilaments are ideal for testing the feet of diabetic patients for loss of protective sensation associated with peripheral neuropathy. Patients who are unable to feel the pressure of the applied filament are considered at risk of developing pressure or neuropathic ulcers. The monofilaments distinguish between normal, diminished light touch, diminished protective sensation, loss of protective sensation, and untestable.
Detects Early Sensory Loss
The reusable monofilaments are designed to use repeatable force to ensure for consistent and accurate results. To use the monofilaments, gently touch the filament to the plantar surface of the foot for 2-3 seconds. Push the monofilament against the sole of the foot just enough to make the filament bend. If there is an ulcer, callus, or scar on the foot, apply the filament on an area adjacent to these rather than directly over them.
Supplied with Instructions
The monofilaments accurately and conveniently measure the threshold of cutaneous sensory perception. Choose from a variety of sets including: hand kit (2.83, 3.61, 4.31, 4.56, 6.65), the foot kit (2.83, 3.61, 4.31, 4.56, 5.07, 6.65) and set of 20 (1.65, 2.36, 2.44, 2.83, 3.22, 3.61, 3.84, 4.08, 4.17, 4.31, 4.56, 4.74, 4.93, 5.07, 5.18, 5.46, 5.88, 6.10, 6.45, 6.65).
