Intended Uses

The Richmar Laser Prism Unit is designed for use by licensed healthcare professionals or their designated assistants. This handheld device offers low level laser therapy for patients with deep tissue conditions. It has several preset outputs that can be changed based on the treatment needed. The cordless option is easy to transport while the tether option is designed for connecting to devices.

Using for Treatment

A blue LED guide light helps the healthcare professional provide accurate and precise treatment. With a continuous output of 1 joule every 2.2 seconds the device is easy to use. There are a few setup phases which include configuring the device and setting the volume control setting before treating a patient. Before treating any patient be sure to clean and degrease the user’s skin to reduce reflection. Plug in the device and insert the safety key to turn on. Remove the clear protective barrier and apply to the skin then remove the red protective cap. One click activates the laser device and a double click switches on the SLD device. The device will run until the selected number of joules has been output and will then shut off. Be sure to keep the device held in a single position during the treatment for the best results and the most safety.

Cordless and Tethered Options

With two available options for the Richmar Laser Prism Unit, there is an option to fit any healthcare setting. The cordless version is battery powered and is ideal for medical professionals moving around from patient to patient. It has a sleep mode that enables a long-lasting battery life. The cordless version does not have restrictions or limitations compared to the tethered version. Then tethered version is compatible with various devices and is designed for stationary uses. It easily connects to the winner EVO stim, Combo, or the Therasound EVO ultrasound machine via laser module upgrade.
