WHAT IS OBI?
Obi is a robotic companion blending cutting edge technology, elegant design, intuitive controls, and personality to deliver a fun and dignified dining experience.
IS OBI RIGHT FOR ME?
Obi delivers dining independence to nearly any individual lacking upper extremity motor control. These conditions include, but are not limited to:
● ALS
● Arthrogryposis
● Cerebral Palsy
● Multiple Sclerosis
● Muscular Dystrophy
● Parkinson’s
● Spinal Cord Injury
● Traumatic Brain Injury
In order to operate Obi, the end user must be able to chew and swallow freely as well as have the cognitive capability to operate a simple device.
HOW DO I GET MY OBI?
Obi can be purchased directly from our website via our shopping page. Also check with your nearest advocacy group as they may stock Obi devices in their loan closet, if applicable.
WHAT DO I GET WHEN I ORDER AN OBI?
Your order will arrive with a new Obi device, set of Pal Pad switches, plate, placemat, two spoons and a charging cable. The box will also contain the user manual, quick start guide, and welcome sheet with information necessary to setup and use Obi.
Obi requires one or more activation switches in order to operate. If you do not have your own switches, you may choose the switches that best suit your needs. Switches can be ordered from our website at an additional cost. If none of the switches on our website are suitable for you, please contact us at 1 844-HELP-OBI (435-7624) and we will help you find the right switches for your needs.
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT PURCHASING OBI FOR A LOVED ONE?
When purchasing an Obi for someone you know, please ensure that they have the ability to chew and swallow freely as well as the cognitive capability to operate a simple device. The user will also require caregiver support to prepare the device, monitor the meal and clean Obi after use.
