Color-Coded Positioning Support for Better Resident Care

Wheelchair users should be repositioned regularly to help maintain proper sitting posture, body alignment, and overall comfort. TU-TONE WEDGES assist caregivers in implementing and maintaining positioning protocols by providing a clear visual reminder to assess and reposition residents as needed. Featuring two contrasting seating surfaces—black and yellow—the wedges allow care teams to establish designated intervals for each color to face upward. This simple visual system enables nurse supervisors to easily monitor compliance with repositioning schedules and support consistent positioning practices.

Care, Maintenance, and Secure Installation Guidelines

Polyester covers may be removed and laundered using standard washing procedures, with wash and dry temperatures not exceeding 180°F (82°C). Bleach should not be used, as it may damage the fabric and reduce product performance. Vinyl covers can be cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not launder the foam cushion. Always remove polyester covers from the wedges before washing. Each Skil-Care wedge cushion includes tie cords designed to secure the wedge to the wheelchair frame. These cords should be properly fastened before use to help prevent the wedge from shifting or slipping off the wheelchair seat.
