Accurate Body Measurements

Gulick II Measuring Tapes ensure accurate reading for body measurements. Perfect for measuring common areas of the body such as waist, hip, wrist, shoulder, arms, and more. To use, simply wrap the tape around the body part, using inches or centimeters by turning the tape over. Then, align the tape’s "zero line" along side of the tape graduations. Finally, pull on the end of the tensioning mechanism until the calibration mark is seen. Read the measurement next to the tape’s "zero line". This calibration ensures accurate, repeatable measurements even when performed by different clinicians.

Individual Calibration Eliminates Guesswork

The Gulick II Tape Measure applies a known amount of tension (4 oz.) to ensure accurate measurements no matter who does the measuring. An ordinary tape measure allows different levels of tension depending on how tightly you pull the tape, which means it allows different circumference measurements. This means two consecutive measurements can be different and if two or more people take the same measurement, the results rarely agree. Gulick II Tape Measures apply constant tension for accurate and repeatable measurements. Each individual tensioning device is calibrated to the factory standard. The Gulick II uses a stainless-steel compression spring that guarantees the calibration will last a lifetime.

Standard and Plus Tape Measures

Both Gulick II Tape Measures are made of no-stretch fiberglass to avoid the discomfort of a cold metal tape. The self-retracting tape stays at the desired length until you push the retract button. The standard tape (081542893) is 72" long and 5/8" width. The Plus tape (081542901) is 120" long and 5/8" width. The Gulick II Plus Tape Measure is ideal for use on larger, non-muscular body types. It's easier to position and less prone to sliding into tissue folds. It is also an excellent choice for Cardiometabolic Risk Assessment measurements.
