Malleable Hand Splint
The LMB Wire-Foam Resting Hand Splint supports the fingers, thumb, and wrist in a functional resting position to promote proper healing. The malleable plastic frame allows for static progressive splinting while the comfortable wire-foam construction allows clinicians to provide patients with a customized fit. It features criss-cross wrist straps to help secure the wrist with an optional Finger Deviation Strap available.
Indications
The splint is designed to hold the joints in a neutral position to help reduce hand and wrist pain. Clinicians recommend a resting hand splint for post-surgery or injury positioning. The LMB Wire-Foam Resting Hand Splint can also be used to relieve pains caused by wrist drop and finger flexor tightness, however, it is not recommended when moderate to severe spasticity is present.
Proper Sizing
The resting hand splint is customizable to securely support the patient's hand and wrist. For appropriate sizing, measure the circumference of the MP joints. Size B (small) fits joints measuring 2-1/4" - 2-3/4" (5.7cm to 7.0cm), Size C (medium) measures 2-7/8" - 3-1/4" (7.3cm to 8.3cm), and Size D (large) measures 3-3/8" - 3-3/4" (8.6cm to 9.5cm).
