Intracavity Vaginal and Rectal Sensors
The vaginal and rectal sensors and stimulators are designed to detect electromyographic activity of the pelvic musculature for the purpose of rehabilitating weak pelvic muscles and/or restoring neuromuscular control. These sensors are connected to a one channel vaginal or rectal intracavity stimulation featuring 12.5, 50, 100, 200 Hz frequencies (purchased separately). A tab at the base of each sensor guides safe and easy insertion and removal.
Connect to a Universal Adapter
The vaginal EMG/stimulation sensor is used as a vaginal intracavity sensor, rectal EMG/stimulation sensor is used as a rectal intracavity sensor, and the vaginal/rectal EMG is used as an EMG sensor only. Sensors can be used with any Pathway EMG and stim unit by connecting the plug to a universal adapter. The universal adapter is sold separately, to allow for connection to the Pathway Preamplifier. The instruments help train the patient to voluntarily contract or relax the pelvic floor muscles correctly as well as document strength gains from treatment session to session.
Ideal for Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
For pelvic muscle rehabilitation, sEMG is a method of assessing and treating pelvic muscle dysfunction. Pelvic floor rehabilitation may assist muscles that have increased tension even when the patient or clinician cannot detect it. Rectal pressure measures the resting and squeeze pressure of the anal sphincter muscles and is the most accurate way of documenting strength gains during a pelvic floor rehabilitation program.
