Retractable Monofilament
This 5.07 monofilament is primarily indicated for testing the feet of diabetic patients for loss of protective sensation associated with peripheral neuropathy. Patients who are unable to feel the pressure of the applied 5.07 filament should be considered at risk of developing pressure or neuropathic ulcers and should be referred to a specialist for further assessment. During use, never use on ulcerated or necrotic tissue.
Monofilament Testing
Monofilament testing is an inexpensive, effective, and portable option for testing the loss of protective sensation. Use this monofilament to test those with peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy is the loss of sensation and increases the risk of ulceration of the feet. This loss of sensation typically occurs in patients with diabetes.
