Orthotic therapy for mild to moderate plantar flexion/inversion/eversion contracture or mild abnormal tone and spasticity of the ankle/foot. The SoftPro® Gait Trainer AFO is a transitional AFO designed to treat mild to moderate lost range of motion of the ankle/foot and to facilitate assisted weight bearing and initial assisted gait training.
Ankle-Foot Orthosis for In-Bed Positioning and Dorsiflexion Stretch
The SoftPro® Gait Trainer AFO is a transitional ankle-foot orthosis designed for non-ambulatory patients. It is not intended for active walking use. A removable ambulation pad enables comfortable in-bed application and positioning. Constructed from a flexible material, the device provides a gentle dorsiflexion stretch to the ankle and foot, helping support proper alignment and range of motion.
Adjustable Dorsiflexion, Alignment, and Positioning Support
The SoftPro® Gait Trainer AFO provides additional dorsiflexion stretch through an adjustable pull strap system. The lateral strap can be selectively tightened to help correct inversion, while tightening both straps together assists in reducing plantar flexion and promoting improved alignment. The heel is designed to “float” within the AFO, remaining pressure-free to enhance comfort during use. For patients in a recumbent position, an optional hip rotation bar may be added to help control internal and external hip rotation, supporting improved lower-limb alignment.
