It even fills deep wounds. Suprasorb A absorbs large volumes of exudate by gel formation which creates a moist wound environment. The gel is rapidly formed through an exchange of calcium ions from the wound dressing with sodium ions in the wound exudate. When changing the dressing the exudate is removed along with the alginate fibers. Depending on the amount of exudate and the secondary dressing used, the interval between changing dressing can be up to 7 days.
